What does EU regulatory guidance on the Internet of Things mean in practice? Part 2 by Antonis Patrikios

In Part 1 of this piece I summarised the key points from the recent Article 29 Working Party (WP29) Opinion on the Internet of Things (IoT), which are largely reflected in the more recent Mauritius Declaration adopted by the Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners from Europe and elsewhere in the world. I expressed my doubts that the approach of the regulators will encourage the right behaviours while enabling us to reap the benefits that the IoT promises to deliver. Here is why I have these concerns.
